Robert R. Stains, Jr., MEd

Robert Stains is the Program Director of the Public Conversations Project in Watertown, MA and a consultant to the Interpersonal Skills Component of the Harvard Negotiation Project at Harvard Law School. He is on the Editorial Board of Conflict Resolution Quarterly and the faculty of the Family Institute of Cambridge, Mass., and serves as a Guest Scholar Practitioner for the Dialogue, Deliberation, and Public Engagement Program of the Fielding Institute in Santa Barbara, Calif. He provides training and consultation to conflict resolution practitioners as well as national and international organizations on creating openings for constructive conversation in the midst of conflict. He mediates for the US Postal Service’s award-winning REDRESS® program, for which he was also one of the original mediator trainers. Mr. Stains is a frequent presenter at national and international conferences and maintains a private practice in Beverly, Mass.
