George T.K. Quek, MBA
George T.K. Quek has trained, coached and consulted for more than 3,000 executives and leaders from over 80 organizations throughout the Asia Pacific in the last five years. Prior to that, he had over fifteen years of senior management experience throughout Asia Pacific with Fortune 500 and regional companies. He specializes in the areas of leadership/management development, performance management and service performance. George displayed his entrepreneurial flair by founding DistincTions Asia Pte. Ltd., a regional training and consulting organization with offices throughout the Asia Pacific. He is the author of the bestselling book Service Unusual published in English, Chinese and Thai.
With a focus on providing holistic and boutique solutions to corporate clients in response to their organizational and people development needs, George serves as an executive coach to senior executives throughout Asia Pacific and regularly conducts workshops on Structured Mentoring and Service Performance with the Singapore Institute of Management, Hong Kong Management Association and Thailand Management Association. He is also an adjunct faculty with the Center for Creative Leadership where he coaches and facilitates international senior executives on leadership and personal development.
George started his career as a consultant with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) before joining ServiceMaster, a US Fortune 500 multinational, renowned for its service excellence in outsourcing support services. He rose through the ranks to Country Manager for Singapore and later joined a regional logistics services group as General Manager for Greater China where he resided. Promoted as Vice President, he had with profit responsibility for over 800 employees in six countries. George has extensive experience in setting up a number of successful start-ups in these organizations. He was headhunted to be the Director of Service Quality Centre, the training and consulting arm that is part of the Singapore Airlines Group. In addition to spearheading the local and international business, George was also heavily involved in providing training, coaching and consulting solutions to Service Quality Centre’s clients.
George has lived and worked in Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Thailand and Indonesia. As a result, he is proficient in the local languages and regularly conducts talks and training in Mandarin, Cantonese in addition to English.
George earned both Bachelor and MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. He qualifies with a Certificate in Corporate Coaching from Corporate Coach U, USA. George is a certified behavioral consultant, a master certifier for DISC, and an accredited MBTI and FIRO-B administrator and practitioner. He is also certified in Center for Creative Leadership’s suite of 360 assessment tools such as Benchmarks. For innovation, George is a certified trainer in "KnowBrainer", an innovation tool and process program.
