Gayle Irvin, MA

Gayle Irvin is an Organizational Consultant and trainer with expertise in group dynamics, team and leadership development, executive coaching, and change management.

Gayle’s first career was as a Registered Nurse specializing in substance abuse and mental health counseling. In the mid 1980s she changed careers, receiving a B.A. in Industrial/ Organizational Psychology and a certificate in Human Resources Administration from Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA. She then worked as a manager in the operational areas of a financial services company.

In the mid 1990s Gayle became a corporate trainer and conducted training in management, feedback, and communication; team training; performance management; coaching; motivation; and change management. In 2002 she received her M.A. from Columbia University in Organizational Psychology and Leadership.

For five years, Gayle was an Internal Consultant for Organizational Development with The New York Times Company. She worked with numerous departments throughout the newspaper and served the NYT Company Regional Newspapers throughout the United States.

Gayle gained experience in conflict resolution as an Associate in the National Coalition Building Institute in Washington DC, an organization committed to nonviolent conflict resolution in institutions, neighborhoods, and the world. She is a graduate of the Organizational Systems Development program and the International Coaching Program, both at the Gestalt Institute in Cleveland, OH. She also completed a certification in Small System Intervention at the International Gestalt Center in Wellfleet, MA.

Gayle is certified in the use of a wide variety of assessment instruments, including the Emotional Competency Inventory (ECI), the Group Development Questionnaire (GDQ), and the Herrmann Brain Dominant Inventory (HBDI). In addition, she received certification from the Hay Group in Behavioral Event Interviewing (BEI), a competency-based interviewing technique. She is also certified by Leadership Studies, Inc. in Situational Leadership.
