David Eaves, MA
David Eaves is an expert in negotiation and relationship management. He has worked with leading companies across North America and Europe in a range of industries including financial services, healthcare, information technology, and telecommunications. He is also lead author of the article "The Relationship Re-launch: How to Fix a Broken Alliance”, published in May 2003 in the Ivey Business Journal.
In addition to his work as a negotiation consultant, Mr. Eaves consults on various public policy issues most recently with the Privy Council Office's strategic office. He served as head author of several publications, including "From Middle to Model Power: Recharging Canada's Role in the World" and "Charting a New Path: A Vision for Canada's Future" written at the request of the government to help it prepare for the February 2004 Speech from the Throne. His writings on public policy are frequently published in the Boston Globe and Mail and Toronto Star.
A frequent speaker on both negotiation and public policy, Mr. Eaves has been invited to speak at numerous companies, universities, and government institutions, including the Privy Council Office, the Canadian Defense and Foreign Affairs Institute, the Association of Professional Executives and the Treasury Board. In addition, Mr. Eaves was invited to give formal presentations to both the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade as well as the Parliamentary Standing Committee on National Defense and Veterans Affairs.
Mr. Eaves completed a BA in history at Queen's University in 1998 and a Masters of International Relations at Oxford in 2000. In 2005, Mr. Eaves was offered an Action Canada fellowship, which is given annually to 15 emerging Canadian leaders. In 2006, he was selected to be a Sauvé Scholar at McGill University, a one year paid fellowship appointment for emerging global leaders. Originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, Mr. Eaves is also fluent in French.
