Anita Simon, EdD

Anita Simon is co-developer with Yvonne Agazarian of SAVI®, the System for Analyzing Verbal Interaction. She has been writing about SAVI® since 1965 and has delivered workshops on this and related topics since 1968. Dr. Simon teaches SAVI® regularly at a variety of professional conferences and at smaller meetings of in the fields of psychotherapy, human resources, and education. She also maintains a private psychotherapy practice in Philadelphia, specializing in work with couples, business partners, and individuals. Since 1991, she has given invited lectures at the Marriage Counsel in Philadelphia.

Prior to her current work, Dr. Simon was co-founder and Educational Director of The Restaurant School and Director of the Humanizing Learning Program at Research for Better Schools. She was editor of Mirrors for Behaviors, a 17-volume encyclopedia of observation systems, and she founded the Classroom Observation Newsletter (currently the Journal of Classroom Interaction).

Dr. Simon received her Ed. D. in Educational Psychology and her MA in Secondary Education from Temple University. She did her undergraduate work in Philosophy at UCLA.
