Alex Eunkyeong Yu

Alex is an executive coach and consultant. Her areas of focus include, culture change and transition; effective communication; global leadership; intercultural management; and multicultural teambuilding

Since 2004, Alex has been helping corporate clients develop their leadership capabilities and improve their performance in the face of intercultural challenges. She is involved in leadership facilitation, with a focus on helping people learn “to lead themselves” before leading others, and to be connected to their best and highest selves. She was a guest speaker at the 2008 Master Series of LG Electronics Global HR Forum: Global Minds, Global Talents. She also presented at the 2006 Swiss Reinsurance company’s Asia HR Conference on the subject of the cultural impact on HR practice in the global business environment. Alex is also the lead author of Cultural Detective: East Asia, a web-based intercultural training tool, identifiying the similarities and differences between Chinese, Japanese, and Korean cultures.

Alex is an ICF (International Coaching Federation) accredited coach, and certified in MBTI, DISC, and Intercultural Readiness Check (an intercultural competence assessment tool). Alex holds a BA and an MA in English Literature from Ewha Womans University in Seoul. She also has an MBA in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. Currently, she is enrolled in the Ph.D. program at Fielding Graduate University, with a focus on Human and Organizational Development. She is fluent in Korean and English, and comfortable in Japanese.
